Uganda is known as one of the most biologically diverse countries in the East African region as it hosts a wide variety of freshwater ecosystems such as lakes, rivers and wetlands thus supporting over 80 amphibian species which inhabit forests, wetlands, streams and ponds (Behangana &Luiselli, 2008). Wetlands in Uganda cover approximately 13% of it’s land surface and provide different ecological services such as flood control, habitat for wildlife
